A Little History...

My Nonna, Ann, as we affectionately called her, was a very loving grandmother. That love didn’t just extend to taking care of her family. It showed in the way she fed her family and all the love that she put in her recipes.

Cooking was her passion and that feeling was palpable! Her smile, the way she looked at us
and the pride she took in feeding us blossomed through every night as if it were the first time.
Seconds was mandatory! I can still hear her saying, “Mangia! You don’t eat enough...a gust of wind is going to come by and take you away!”

In 1978, it was time...

Ann had decided that she was going to expand her culinary horizons. She, with the help of her husband, Vito, opened a 700 square foot storefront on the Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield. It started as just pizza to go, but quickly expanded into home-cooked meals that most people could only dream of.

In the blink of an eye, it was 1980, We had a new President and Vito had to cut back his hours at the Hartford Courant to help Ann. The 700 square foot storefront was suddenly a 1500 square foot sit down restaurant!

Yes, I did intentionally spell Pizzeria incorrectly twice. This is in tribute to Ann who came up with this idea to differentiate us from the competition.
